Our Techniques

Chiropractic adjusting technique.

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience.

The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

NUCCA

NUCCA is an acronym for the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. This is our primary focus.

NUCCA adjustment

This technique does a very detailed analysis of misalignment in the neck which can cause problems throughout the entire body. The technique was originally taught by Dr. Ralph Gregory who worked with another pioneering researcher in the chiropractic field named, Dr. John Grostic, Sr. Other very similar techniques based on the same model include Atlas Orthoganality and Orthospinology.

This technique uses a very specific, light and controlled force to restore misaligned spinal bones to their proper position allowing the nerves to functional optimally. During this procedure patients lie comfortably on their sides, and the doctor applies a very gentle pressure behind the ear at a bone in the spine. There is never any turning or twisting of the head and neck in this procedure. In fact, it is one of the safest, most comfortable and most effective techniques in chiropractic today.

Chirodontics
Chirondontics Adjustment

Chirondontics is a technique that is used in our office primarily to assist people with problems associated with Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction. This procedure uses an interdisciplinary approach with area dentists and orthodontists to address the entire problem associated with dental occlusion (how the teeth fit together) as well as postural and nervous systems disturbances that produce TMJ dysfunction, headaches, spinal pain/problems and a host of other conditions. We are pleased to have a strong chiropractic, dental and orthodontic team to address challenging cases.

Activator Methods®
Activator InstrumentThe Adjusting Instrument The Activator Methods® Adjusting Instrument is a handheld spring-loaded tool that delivers a consistent low-force, high-speed thrust.

We may use one of the most popular “low force” chiropractic techniques in the world. We use an evaluation while you’re lying face down to evaluate the length of your legs. This simple procedure can reveal significant differences in leg lengths. This time-tested protocol helps to tell us if subluxations exist and where they are located. It also helps us know when to adjust and when not to adjust. The Activator Instrument is a hand-held instrument that delivers a precise, repeatable force at just the right angle. Because it’s many times faster than adjustments delivered by hand, the body rarely tightens to resist, making adjustments comfortable and effective. It’s also helpful for adjusting elbows, wrists, knees and other joints of the body.read more»

Extremity Adjusting

Other joints include, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles, feet, etc. This highly effective procedure is many times helpful for frozen shoulders, correcting the underlying problem with Tennis (or Golfer’s) Elbow, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, sprains of all types, etc. Using a variety of comfortable and effective

Dr. Greg Goffe Asks some important questions of interest to Dayton residents - Chiropractor Dayton Dr. Greg Goffe Asks...

Can those with osteoporosis get chiropractic care?
Of course. When developing a care plan, we consider the unique circumstances of each patient. There are many ways we can adjust the spine. The chiropractic method we select will be best suited to your age, size and unique situation.
Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Dayton and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic patient knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
