The Webster Technique

What is the Webster Technique?

According to the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA),

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated.”

What does that mean? Normal alignment and function of the mother’s pelvis after Webster adjustments facilitates normal, natural birth positions.

As part of his commitment to providing moms-to-be with the highest level of care, Dr. Goffe has completed the requirements to become a Webster certified practitioner.

Webster certified doctors are taught the following:

  • Gentle and safe adjusting techniques
  • Individual case management systems
  • Evidence-informed ways to best care for pregnant women

Webster certified doctors are also provided an in-depth view of birth and are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to support women who are seeking safer, natural births.

Helping Expecting Moms Have a Positive Birth Experience

The certification allows Dr. Goffe to better care for pregnant women who desire safer and smoother birth outcomes. “Over the years I have used the Webster Technique to assist many women in having a vaginal birth rather than riskier interventions such as Caesarian sections.”

We also see women whose babies are in the breech position. While the Webster Technique doesn’t specifically involve turning breech babies, it’s used to optimize the room and function in the mother’s pelvis. As a result, the baby can naturally go into a normal, head-down position.
